ILI and influenza

  • Influenza activity remains above normal levels in Guam with Influenza B now predominating. Source: Guam Weekly Communicable Disease Surveillance Report - Week 9 – 2019 and personal communication with country officials on 18 March 2019
  • An increasing number of ILI cases has been reported in Pohnpei State, Federated States of Micronesia, since week 9. Influenza A (H3) and (H1) were identified through influenza testing performed in Pohnpei on the multiplex array (Biofire). – Source: FSM communicable disease surveillance report-week 10 and personal communication with country officials on 18 March 2019
  • In the Northern Mariana Islands, ILI is at its highest outpatient encounter rate for 2019 – 5.3 percent of outpatient encounters.
